The Southern Oregon Coast is definitely a place you need to visit at least once in your lifetime. There are so many sights to see, from Cape Blanco State Park to Rocky Point Beach. When planning a trip, of course, one of the first things you will need to do is choose a place to stay. Here are some tips in that regard.

1. Opt for a hotel.

These days, there are more accommodation options than ever thanks to apps that let you stay for free on people's couches or rent rooms from them. While these types of accommodations have their place, you are really best off staying in a hotel when you visit the Southern Oregon Coast. Some towns and counties in this area have strict regulations regarding short-term rentals, and you do not really want to risk doing anything illegal. At a hotel, you know that your accommodations are legal and regulated.

2. Look for a hotel that is centrally located.

There is so much to see up and down the coast. You're going to want to take a couple of day trips and see sights that are a bit farther away. This is easiest when you book a hotel that is centrally located. For example, booking one near Grants Pass or Agness is about right. This way, you can travel north to sites like Shore Acres State Park and Blackout Point, and south to sites like Harris Beach State Park and Prehistoric Gardens.

3. Look for comfortable amenities.

Chances are, you're going to be pretty active on this vacation. You have a lot of hiking, biking, and climbing to look forward to. When the day comes to an end, you're going to want to really kick back and relax. So it's worth paying a little more for a hotel that offers amenities that will make your time there more comfortable. A pool, a hot tub, a lounge with a bar — these are all nice things to come back to after a day of climbing and beach walking. A hotel that has its own restaurant is nice, too, so you don't have to seek out a meal at the end of the tiring day.

The Southern Oregon Coast is simply bursting with beauty. You're going to have a lovely time, especially if you follow the tips above when booking your accommodations. Look for a centrally located hotel with comforting amenities, and you'll be set.
